Craftsman chainsaw at altitute: needs carburator adjustment. I just purchased a 42cc craftsman from the local sears in Las Vegas, NM, at 6,400ft. It never ran properly so I visit my neighbor, a small engine guru. The word is that carburators need adjustment for altitude. Sears, due to emissions regulations, requires a special tool for carb adjusting, NOT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. Apparently they used to include "the tool" with chainsaw purchase but now do not. Question: Who can I find with this device that no longer needs it? Say, mabye the neighbor's kid burned up the saw and he no longer needs "the tool"???? Any suggestions? Anyone? I can't go by sears every time I need a minor adjustment.

Hi Vince, I'll assume your talking about the centrifugal clutch. Remove the outside nut then use a puller to get it off the shaft and there will be a key way. I haven't done that specific model but thats a general mounting.
