McCulloch chainsaw 1-43; source for bar and chain?

I've got an old (could be from the 60's) McCulloch chainsaw model 1-43. Runs well.
Chain needs to be replaced, and it cuts at an angle, so I'm guessing the bar also is worn.

Any idea on how to find a bar/chain that will work on this beast? I assume the pitch must match so the drive sprocket grabs the chain properly. Any chance the drive sprocket could be changed to a different pitch, so a newer bar/chain combo could work?

I have a whole bunch of McCullochs. With a I-43 the normal bar is 22 inch and a 404 pitch chain. Some had 1/2 inch chain, but few. The bar can be found on Ebay and is pretty tough and thick. Look at chainsaw collectors corner on the net. Find McCulloch motors and look up your saw. Lots of info and there is a bar diagram page. Older saws have a BIG screw to the inside of the bar. Newer saws have the screw in the cover. Need the correct bar for the OLDER saw. Take it to a good dealer who severiced Macs and get fitted up. Gears are almost imposssssible to find! Any chain you get try for full chissel. Wow does it cut! Jeffcat
