what size is just a little smaller than 1 7/16? I need a 3/4" drive impact.

If you are trying to take a wheel off it is probably a 36 MM . I ran into one of those on a week-end and found one at my local NAPA store. If you got time to shop on internet or other tool and auto supply stores you may find it cheaper. Link below is to one of the internet suppliers that I have not used and is for SK socket just to give you an idea.

35mm or 36mm should do it.
