I have few short sticks of surplus "Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene" plastic round tubing. Just wondering what they really used this type for and why is it fluorinated? Thanks.

I Ain't an engineer, LOL... But I will try... I am assuming that the Tubing is made from a Co-Polymer of Polyethelene/Polypropylene. & the flourination is a treatment that seals any porosity of the Plastic. The plastic bottles used for the blue windshield washer antifreeze must be flourinated, to prevent the alcohol from leaching out of the bottle...Keep in mind this is just my opinion...

Disregard the other post, I was wrong... After looking up F-E-P, I see that it is similar to Teflon...I guess it would make some good material for bushings... low friction...

Yes, It's a teflon product. I did more searching on it too and found more than I wanted. lol. Thanks.

Davis, That's what I was wondering if they used this tubing for some type of fluids or what. It has been machined to 2.65 OD x .313 wall x 6" long and 2" ID. It isn't clear but white and kinda transluscent. Found some info on the McMaster Carr site and it shows 2" rounds at about $193 a foot. Said there it could be use for cylinders but not really explaining much else. I got the 6" tubes surplus for $2 each. lol. Thanks for the info.
