After reading the recent discussion on stopping a compressor from walking around, I thought I'd upload a pic of how I mounted mine. I too did not want to bolt it to the floor, but I figure the wooden pallet base (which I've seen numerous times) looks kinda redneck to me. I had some 2x3 steel tubing left from a project and it proved to be exactly enough. Cut a 4 foot piece and then four more pieces that exactly meshed and welded them together. I'm not a good welder and the old JC Penny AC welder doesn't help any, but its more than strong enough. I drilled the holes thru the legs for the machenery feet prior to welding, used the drill press to get them square. Freehanded the holes for the compressor feet when all done. I also installed a street ell and a pipe and ball valve and a clamp mount to make draining easier and less messy than the brass petcock the compressor came with. The machinery feet came from MSC on a sale. Mason Industries MLS-500 feet for about $9 each. The shadow in the pic is a quirk of the camera, with low ambient lighting, the flash is shadowed by the lens hood/filter mount. Charles
