Let me set the record straight. I was born and raised in Greenup County Kentucky and have lived here all my life. I am 47 years old. It is rural here and I know everybody around here on a first name basis, there daddy and mother and most of their kids. I have 2 places, one is 7 acres and the other 192 acres. There is river bottoms on the big place and a pond on the little one. I hunt on all my neighbors and they hunt on me. We don't know what a property line is when it comes to hunting. I can walk for miles and cross lots of fences without hesitation and never worry about some selfish ba$tard running me off. IF I ever see anybody, the reaction is 'how many squirrels you get?' or 'see anything?' When the kids show up at the pond I don't run them off. If I bother at all, I may walk over and see if they caught anything, might even take them a cold can of pop and a can of monkey peckers (viennas). I ride my kids on a 4 wheeler in the pasture and of the neighbor kids come to ride, they are welcome. Now, when I'm in a bind and need a tool or some help...I don't mind asking for it and I always get it. My garden burnt up this year, but no matter. I had bushels of tomatoes left on the back porch, always plenty of watermelons and cantaloupes, apples, peaches, blueberries, peaches.....even cobblers and pies handed to me for gratis. Now MY name is on the deeds and MY money makes the payments, but none of this belongs to me.....it's only on loan while I walk this Earth. It was farmed long before me and may be farmed when I am dust. May be full of houses for all I know. For the time being, I lose no sleep about what MIGHT happen, but enjoy sharing the bounty I have been privledged to enjoy. It's everybodies perogative to post their land and cuss because somebody has stepped on THEIR property. To each his own.
