my 40? model 9n has a hole in tne governor onthe back where it has a little raised button looking piece, started mowing when the thing busted out of the governor. ran fine for about an hour, then started running rough, if i pull the choke about halfway out the tractor runs fair, but under a load it starts running rough, could this be from the governor.and can i interchange one from a 49 8n thanks john

John-Sounds like it is starving for gas. My farmall would only run part choke and carb passages were plugged and needed a good carb cleaning and rebuild.
