All levels have these little tubes with fluid and an air bubble inside and a couple lines so you can tell where level is right? Who makes the little bubble totin vials for levels? I have a littl project and would like to obtain a few (dozen or so) but, I have not found a source. I could scrounge around and find old broken or bent levels I suppose but would prefer to use all one size shape etc. If anyone knows of a source I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

dieselrider..... ...I used to make special test fixtures with bubble levels that I'd buy from a "surveying instrument" repair shop in Seattle. He'd order 'em for me, but he always had an assortment that I'd brouse thru. Tubular vials he called them. Ennywhere from 1/8" dia and 3/4" long to 1/4" dia and 2" long. He used special plaster glue, but I'd use epoxy. Different fluids, like glycerin for slow reaction; alcohol for fast reaction..... ....Dell

I have some hidden somewhere in my shop. They are the vials like used in levels, packed in sawdust in a box. I will have to get to the shop this weekend. Wont hurt your pocket too much either. :-)
send me an E-mail and we can talk.

Those hidden level vials wouldn't happen to be MD series 600 would they? Also known as #27003, kit 007. I'm trying to restore a 78" MD level. It was used in masonary work so the vial covers are very deteriorated and the bubbles can't be seen.

Some of the tool sellers, such as Travers, MSC, J&L, etc. sell the round leveling bubbles that stick on.....

I'm sure there's a source for the vials, but a simpler and cheaper way might be to buy a bunch of plastic string levels. Just grind off the string hooks and you're good to go. Any hardware store will stock them and they're only a couple bucks apiece.
