I went to our local Farm and Ranch store yesterday to buy a 1" bearing. Store type person said "oh we quit carrying that item about a year ago" What's wrong with this picture folks?

Merle, I went to Quality Farm & Fleet in Piqua OH to get new headlight bulbs for my 51' Farmall H, and the kid who was running the tractor dept. said he had never heard of a 6 volt bulb, some "farm" store huh'. I even went and looked on the shelves and racks in the antique tractor section and couldn't find any 6 volt bulbs at all!!

From what the crew in here say, they overhauled themselves a while back and went modern on us. They also own Central Tractor Co. and will probably ruin it for us too. We're too smart on prices, you know! If theres a Tractor Supply Co. in your area, they still carry farm and ranch stuff, but I think their only in the east, south and midwest. Looks like in the future, auto parts houses or farm implement dealers and bearing supply houses are it. AYL? L8R----Fred OH

we've had a tractor supply co here for about three years. in that time the store has had 7 managers, only two of whom have been worth a hoot. they have never never never received anything they "ordered" for me. takes them about 2 months to restock items they normally shelve. the store reminds me of a business that is going out of business but doesn't want the public to know. its a shame because it could be of real help to farmers if it were run a little better. i have to admit, i still go in the store about twice a week.

They checked their refference and found that Martha Stewart had no offerings for what to do with a 1" bearing. So, why would anyone want one of those?
