It has some similarities to a compressor my Dad took off an old refrigerator truck back in the early 70s. He used it as an air compressor for about 20 years.

Hi Jay,

Why don't you resize your pictures about 75% smaller?

For the guys like me that have a dial-up ISP, you make reading your thread very slow to load, about 5min and people won't have to scroll to read the message or replys.

For the ones needing picture details, the picture can be blown up to full size in any picture editor with a simple copy/paste.

T-Bone, I have dial-up and it only took about 3 seconds to load that pic at 36kbps

Are you exaggerating a bit on the five minutes or is dial up really that slow? I have a satelite set up (can not get anything else out here in the sticks) and am wondering if it is worth the money over dial up or not.

Hi Wayne,

Ya it's pretty slow on pictures or graphic intensive websites, 26.8k at the puter. Some websites I refuse to load just because it takes too long, more than 2min.

I was over at the sons place and he's on DSL. WOW I'd kill for DSL here. For how I use my puter, satellite is just too expensive. About the only time I miss a faster conection is looking for parts.

Hi Jay,

Thanks, that resize is alot better as it only took me 1-1/2min to expand the thread. Other than satellite, I don't have any other choice, so it's dial-up at 26.8k at the puter, line drop out in the country.

With the bore size, stroke and rpm, should be able to tell you CFM. Since it was a refer compressor you will need to add a "P" trap or oil accumulator on the discharge with a oil line back into the crankcase to keep oil usage to a minimum.

well bore size is 2.5 inches in diameter per piston (4 in total) , it has a 16 inch pully, as for RPM`s looks like the motor has a 4.5-5 inch pully.

With those service valves, it obviously started life as a refigeration compressor.

Took off a head on this thing has 2 pistons on one side both are the same size each 2.5 inches in diameter, so Im guessing 4 pistons at 2.5 inches in diameter any Idea how much CFM this thing could put out?

Hmmm, Id say 4 cylinder single stage splash lubricated and 10 cfm with a 3hp motor. Thats just a guess. 14 cfm with a 5hp. What size motor did you take off?
