This one is like the bolt and screw question below. When is a motor a motor , and a engine a engine? Again , my way of thinking is that a motor is run by electric. An engine is powered in some way , by fuel such as gas , propane , diesel , coal , etc. But , you always hear things like a "motor mount" in a vehical , etc.. Another one is the motor boat. I also know that motor mean to move. And a engine has moving parts. In the dictionary , one of the definitions of motor is: internal combustion engine. Like the screw and bolt question , the motor and engine question can also be twisted in many directions. Your opinions? What other questions can you come up with , that are on this order?

Good one! I'm jim from below (nuts vs. bolts) I agree... if you plug it in, it's a motor, ... if you gas it up, it's an engine. Next forum: Why do we park on the driveway, and drive on the parkway? (sorry!!!)

This is kinda like the old one about;
They wouldn't dare take out the freeways in California, cause the people wouldn't have any place to park.

Did you ever try to drive in LA, Orange, or San Bernadino counties out there during "Rush Hour"??

Which of course leads to the eternal question;
Who was the girl wearin nuthin but a smile and a towel, on the picture on the billboard in the field near the big old highway?

Why do people say "hot water heaters" when you don't have to heat it if it is already hot?

I saw one fly by a few min. ago!!!!
Actually heavier as the compressed gas is heavy.
A motor has a power source other than itself. An engine converts a fuel to power. Thats the best I can think of to explain it . Been too long since school!

I agree, a motor gets its eneryg from a remote soruse, an engine changes its fuel to energy and motion in one contained unit. Electric motor, hydraulic motor, etc., gas engine, steam engine, etc.

Hi Cj, Helium is hauled in liquid form and is heavier. I believe only natural gas is hauled compressed.

Liquified natural gas (LNG)is stored in tanks and shipped by truck all over New England. It is a cryogenic gas like oxegen, hydrogen, argon, helium mixtures, etc. Pure helium liquifies at absolute zero and is nearly impossible to make.

If Teflon is so slick, how do they make it stay in the pan?

That's easy, gamma radiation. Teflon originates as a gas, and adheres to irradiated surphaces.
