1. When did Hollander start publishing two volumes per year? I know one volume is mechanical, like engine, tranny, etc, but what is contained in the second volume? 2. The plastic hub of the steering wheel on my '76 Chevy van has shrunk and split apart right above the nut, and the signal return ring has broken off the underside. Probably sun and heat damage. The crack is about 3/16 wide. Has this happened to anyone else and what was done to repair it? Thanks

I cannot remember the name of the company where I bought it, but I bought a new turn signal switch assembly for a 1977 Chevy 1/2 ton from the Internet. Found them with Google search. It was really good quality and cost less than $40.

I bought a turn signal switch assembly many years ago, ($11) because the right turn wouldn't cancel. I didn't fix it so it's still sitting in the drawer. Now the part that operates the switch has broken off the underside of the steering wheel. It's a plastic ring on three plastic standoffs. Others I've seen have a short steel pin to operate the switch. When the standoffs broke off the ring was damaged when the steering wheel was turned.

1. The hollander go back into the 20's. Before the 80's they were one volume. Then they split into a mechanical and a body section. They are now about 6 volumes.
2. A lot of auto stores carry the turn signal mechanism in the HELP parts by motormite.

Don't know 'bout the steer'n wheel but their are turn signal repair parts avalible. The springs fer the turn sig. return are replacable and the canceling cam may be broke
try www.motormite.com. Part of the Dorman Co. are the ones that supply parts for the "HELP" line of parts you see at autoparts stores
Also take a good look at the upper steer'n shaft bearing when ya remove the steer'n wheel if a ball bear'n is miss'n it may have enoufh slop in the shaft that it will cause it to sumtimes not cancel the signals sum times.

Try someplace like The Eastwood Company. They specialize in automotive restoration stuff and I think they have steering wheel repair kits.
