Came across a Westinghouse compressor near me for sale. The owner says it was recently rebuilt. 60 gal tank, 3 horse two stage. I was hoping you might be able to ID it from the photos I have posted in the gallery and give your impression.

It looks like a 3YC pump. Very heavy duty unit, with good valve design. If it is like the 5YC I rebuilt, it has an integral plunger type oil pump riding off the crankshaft. Probably as good as a Quincy for quality. I believe Westinghouse sold off their compressor designs to LeRoi, as later LeRoi Dresser pressure lube pumps are almost exactly the same. If it is running well, it is an excellent compressor. You can still get rebuild kits from either Independent Components Corp. or Parts Service International, through a compressor repair shop.

I am guessing that it is a 3YC. There may have been a 2YC pump also.

Thanks Roger. The owner said it was a 1 AYC with serial number 160835. Being a three horse can I assume no more than 12 cfm?

Would the "1" indicate it is an older unit then the ones you mentioned?

No, I think it means that it's a smaller pump. 12cfm is probably max,closer to 8 or 9cfm I'd wager.
