Low Voltage landscape lights. Need new transformer

For our Toro lights and I found out that Toro is no longer in the lighting buisiness and it looks like Electa that was makeing them is also out. I was told by toro that I could find a transformer that would work at Lowes or Home Depot or a place like that but the Lowes I looked at did not have just the power box. Anyone know where I can get one?? Thanks for any help.

All you do is multiply the number of lights you are using by the wattage of each bulb. Or if like in my set I use different size bulbs at special areas, just add up the total watts of all the bulbs, it that simple!

I have your problem also. I have discovered that Malibu, which is what Lowes etc carries generally only come with a timer, not a photocell. Supposdedly the photocell is available as an add-on but my stores have not been carrying it.
there is another brand I am pursuing on line. It is called Classy Caps Low Voltage Lighting Transformer.
It is pricey so I am pursuing another avenue--haunt all the Walmarts in the area for closeout sets having a transformer with adequate wattage and then order a photocell on line.

I tried replacing parts for my set of Malibou lights, found it was cheaper to just buy a complete new set of lights. Lowes does have a bunch of replacement parts tho.

Yes I dont doubt that it is cheaper to just put in a whole new set. I will see what they have and the cost.

That is a good idea that way they would go off on days when it is really dark and cloudy especially in the winter.

Go back to Lowe's and ask person in elect. dept. where they have the individual 12 volt transformers. They will take you to them. They stock them sometimes shelf over from kits. Just make sure it is enough watts to meet or better yet buy one a little larger so you can add to or put in a bigger bulb or two for the lighted areas you might want to increase. Any brand will work volts is volts no matter who make it.

Thanks for the advice I will go ask them soon. Right now I am useing the 4 watt bulbs in them that they had from the start. I know so little about elecrical things and I appriciate the help. R Wyler
