Stripped threads on a torch

A friend has an old torch he said he'd give me (w/cutting head) but one of the fittings is stripped on the bottom of the torch. It's not a Victor, I don't remember the brand. I believe it's the O2 side that's stripped. Is there an easy way to fix the fitting? It looked like it was made into the torch so I can't just put a new fitting on it.

Is there something like a heli-coil for outside threads like that?

Thanks,
Kerry

Kerry bring it to a welding supply house and see if they have someplace they send torches to for repair. If you cant readily repair it don't mess around with it get a new one. Don't play with fire.

I just talked to him again, it's a National torch, I think it's aluminum so that may be the problem.
