Pipe Under a House Foundation

I have to try to get a 6-8" pipe from the crawl space under my house under the foundation and out the front of the house. The floor above the crawl space will be ripped out at the time. Is there some way to get the pipe under the foundation? The house is an old field stone house and the foundation only goes two feet below the surface. I saw that a local rental shop has a "pipe missle" which is used to drive pipe under roads. Would this work? Is there an easier way to do this? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help

Find someone that does directional boring this will save you time and money bacause you can dig 1 hole under house and he can drill a hole straight to it less mess and problems.

Sure, you could push a pipe under the house, but what if you got too close to that old foundation? It probably wouldn't take much to cause some serious damage, and then you're looking at real work to fix it.

By the way, post hole diggers make a great tool for digging trenches. Open up the floor above the trench and you'll have plenty of room to work.

Wont take long to hand dig the 2" inside, since the flooring is gone. could get a backhoe and small bucket and dig the one on the outside right against the foundation. Dont take much to go under the foundation. Could get a 6 or 8" bore and chuck it up in a good 1/2 drill.

How about a old fashon shovel? They were used many years before all of these new gadgets showed up. Alvin, a old timer from before depression days.

I thought about a shovel. Problem is I have to go under the house foundation, under the concrete porch and out into the yard. All told, this would be 15 to 20 feet. To dig this I would have to work like a coal miner.

It may be hard work but it can be done.

We have some local plumbers in our area that will come out and put a camera into your sewer pipes to find a blockage under a slab house.

They go out side and and dig a trench under the slab to the bad spot big enough for a man to crawl in so the pipe can be repaired.

My sister had all her cast iron pipes removed and PVC installed under her slab because the pipes were breaking after years of use.

The hard part is filling the trench in.
