Our local threshing show has acquired an old 24" wood planer that might have a missing part (we think) but we have no information or pictures to go by. The words cast into the base are - RANDLE & DUGAN MACH"Y CO. SOLE AGENTS FOR CINCINNATI, O. U.S. PATENT MAR.30, 1875. These are the exact words cast into the base of the machine. Anyone know anything about these or are there any pictures available? We are not sure about the belt tightener design for the feed rolls. Thanks. Jim

My dad had a big one like that for a while that he bought at an auction and I hauled it home for him. I think it weighed at least a ton. It had a new 2 cylinder 18hp Briggs. Someone saw it and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. I'm going to ask him if it was the same brand that you mention.

The Old Woodworking Machines guys don't seem to have it in their database, but they would be the ones to ask.

Old Woodworking machines has a very interesting site. Lots of pictures. There is a picture of a planer that has a drive similar to the one we have. It's not the same brand name but it is close enough to give me some ideas. Thanks. Jim
