i know this is off topic but i need help with my chainsaw. i had it repaired a few months ago, cut quite a bit of wood and put it up for a while. today i tried to cut some maple and it cut good for a while then it would idle down while under load. id take it out of the cut and it would run but not at high speed. id shake it a bit it would rev up but not cut for long. this was while the saw was on its side. i got the tree down and it cut ok while it was up, tried to cut on the side again and it would bog down again. i know this is longwinded but i wanted to give all the info. thanks bill

When in doubt, replace the spark plug with a known good one.

Could be bad gas in it or a little water? Maybe put a little Seafoam or some like stuff in it and see what happens.

One thing to check is the fuel filter that's inside the carburetor - especially if the chain is not always sharp (or the rakers too high). That causes wood dust instead of chips. The dust gets on the saw, eventually gets into the fuel tank, is fine enough to get through the fuel tank filter, and plugs the little filter inside the carb.

Take your gas cap off and look for the suction filter, it maybe sticking up above the fuel level in the tank when the saw is on its side. Fish in there with a wire and move it to a different location. Happens to me with my 3400's. chris
