I am building a finnish mower out of a toro front mounted mower deck. It will be PTO driven. I have not decided weather to make it 3 pt or trailing type. I see pros and cons to both like 3 pts leaving strips when you turn and pto shaft angles when cornering with trailing types. I'm leaning towards 3 pt to keep things simpler and so I can lift it high.

Um, actually appears to be a bit of humor. You see, you put two "n"s in finish, which could be interpreted to be a mower from Finland. Well, Sweden is another Scandanavian country, so O Really apparently figured inquiring about a Swedish mower would be humorous and would point out the misspelling in such a manner as to be inoffensive.

YMMV

Unless you got a lotta rocks, a Finnish mower should be sufficient. I've seen pics, though, of the fields my relatives worked in the old country, Sweden has a LOT of rocks.

I have a woods finnish mower with 3pt float, it works good .After you use it some you will find the best way of turning,at first I left strips with my mower. You also need check chains to use the 3pt or your mower will be going all over the place. The trailing type you will find you can't use it in a small yard, and it will be hard to back up, so on the last strip of grass you can't just back over it to mow it off, you will have to turn the tracter around or try to back it up, and that can be very hard if it has casters on it.I like the way my mower lifts all the way off the ground and you can drive over big stuff and it makes cleaning the deck off, sharpening the blades and adjusting the casters much easy.

I have a 3 point king kutter finish mower and they designed the three point so it hooks to links that hook to the mower. mower has its own wheels on all corners so if you lower the 3 point the mower just floats with the suface until you lift it works well.

I had a King Kutter. Here is a pic and the link to the page that shows the linkage as described in the previous post. It works well.
