hello, well I need to add a very small piece to a vinyl scupper. The original installer just cut the "T" flashing and bent it down to make the scupper drain. However the water leaks around and down over the trimmer joist which is now wet all winter. I would like to glue a small piece of vinyl to the existing so to get a spout effect. What exactly does a seaming tool do when an installer heats it up and presses down the seam?I'm thinking maybe I could just iron a piece right on there. Will it work?

All that I can offer is an opinion. If the iron wasn't just the right temperature you would get a good stick, or worse, melt the vinyl.

Is this a kind of PVC vinyl? Do you have any scraps?
You might just try some PVC glue on scraps to see if you can't just glue in the piece you need.

Free thoughts, probably worth just that.
