Stupid question but did it have power before you took it apart? If not take the air inlet fitting out and check to be sure it isn't clogged. Every one I've ever seen has a filter screen in it and yours should too unless it's been removed as some point in the past. If you know you've got it together right and it was underpowered before try that first. If you had the trigger/inlet valve assembly out make sure you got it all back together right and that the valve is opening fully when you squeeze the trigger. Next make sure you put the forward/reverse selector back in correctly. I can't recall exactly how that one went together on the 772 but I do know some can be put in wrong and cause problems. Check the vanes on the motor and make sure their floating free and not sticking. If you used any type of grease when you put them clean it off because it will cause them to stick and therefore your loss of power. All the vanes need is a little light oil like marvel Mystery oil. If I remember right the CP has two pins to align everything, so make sure when you put it all back together that you had both end plates on the motor in the right place and everything aligned properly. This is stuff to check if it seems like the power loss is in the motor end. If it spins OK but doesn't have any hammer power then the only thing that can be is that you've somehow gotten the hammer together incorrectly. In that case simply do it again and be 100% sure this time that it's together right. I believe the CP also uses oil on the hammer instead of grease like some of the others so make sure the hammer is oiled good or it won't operate properly. I don't do any type of tool repairs for a living but I've repaired a number of my own tools and a few for friends over the years, including IR, CP, as well as a few others, and these are the main things that I've seen happen to them. They all operate on basically the same principle, even if the parts are a little different, so there isn't that much that can go wrong with them. Tear it back down, clean everything up and put it back together again. Maybe this time you'll see something that just doesn't look right that you may have missed on the first go-round. Hope this helps, and good luck.
