Hi I have a little problem; I have a 1967 C50 Chevy Dump truck and need a part.. Have called every dealer around this area and cannot find any one with a parts book for it..The part that I need is in the Clutch linkage.. There is a Z-bar rocker with a swivel on each end.. I need a new swivel post ( this screws into the bell housing and the Z-bar slips over this post.. the other end of the Z-bar is attached to the frame. More than likley the part is available just that I cannot find a part number for it and the dealers cannot or will not help. Would appreciate any help with this..

Thanks..

Carol

This catalog lists them. in reply to Carol Martin, 05-06-2005 04:42:31
The online catalog for Jim Carter Classic Truck Parts shows them available.

At the link below click on the appropriate year catalog. The index is on pages 6-7 (top right).
The clutch items are on pages 61-62 of the year catalog you want.

One more thing, just click on the index or other page to increase the size of that page.

Could you make won with a lathe, or a friends lathe? I know it would be more work than buying one, buy if you are spending a lot of time looking, well an hour or two at a lathe might save you time. Only thing, is it heat treated? If so this changes things a bit, buying one is the way to go. Used or new.

Carol,

I believe the pivot ball is the same for the big trucks of that era as the pickups. I've bought a lot of stuff from ChevyDuty.com They're a classic truck parts supplier. I'm sure that they will have the part you need.

If not, try another Chevy dealer. Sometimes you have to go to two or three in order to get someone who'll help you.

Good luck,

Carol, Know the part your talking about I believe. Is it the pivot ball? A stud that is in the bell housing? The clutch push rod contacts that lever to release the clutch. If that is what you need their should be jillions in the salvage yards or even in some ones back yard. They were all the same from who knows when. That truck probably doesn't have anything bigger than a 265 cubic inch engine, and if bigger it would still have that paddle pivot arrangement. Go for it Buddy there's lots of them around. Old Dutch

I bought one of those studs from a Jeep dealer, so I know they are available. If the Z-bar size is the same, I'd buy one from wherever I could find it. As many old trucks that are sitting in fields, I'd check those too.

This may sound silly, but have you checked Corvette parts sites. A Chevy motor is a Chevy motor and if you could identify it from a picture, they might be able to help you.

Just a thought..... ..... .

SOmetimes these dealer parts just dont want to co=operate with a guy. If it is that ball thingy that screws into the housing, they are out there.
Found this, may give you something to check out.

Tried NAPPA and O'rieleys This is strictly a dealer part. all of the dealers around here say they dont have any parts books going back that far. cannot locate a junk yard around here in So Mo that handles many truck parts. Tried couple of on line sites and got no response from them.

I owned a 1967 Firebird (Camaro with a different engine) years and years ago. I remember the clutch linkage was similar to what you describe for your truck. A quick Yahoo search on "Camaro clutch parts" quickly turned up this item:

Link

I believe this part is at least the same idea as what you describe. I'm not saying the part is the same or that the vendor is any good, but maybe it will at least give you a picture for what you are looking for.

A junkyard might have a Hollander Interchange manual that could cross the C50 part with other cars and trucks, which would give you a bigger pool to work from.
