Well thanks for the info folks, I did a serch on google on anvils and got much good information. Tue night I bought a 150 lb. Hay budden in good shape very few dings on face plate and had a great rebound when you drop a hammer on it. A friend bought a farm in Va. and is moving from his farm here in Penna. Well anyways he wanted $125. for the anvil which was fine with me. Then last night there was a Fisher anvil which was 140lbs. and also in nice shape real clean and there were only a few people at the sale and what the heck I got that one for $100. so that one is home in the barn also. Most of the time when anvils show up at a sales there all beat up and I go to about three auctions a week and I would say one out of every 6 or so anviles are in fair shape most of the anviles I see at auction are all beat up and abused and the prices are crazy....One of my Tractor buddies is looking for an anvil so I know he would glad for one of this now that I have.
Thanks
Obie

Because if you try that with a good big anvil, will send it back at you flattened out at twice the speed.

Anvils go for $$$. Good deal, will pay for themselves.
