Homelite Leaf Blower

I have a Homelite leaf Blower that starts and runs ok, but does not seen to rev up over about 1/2 speed. Trigger to carb seems to work as it should. Any Suggestions. Thanks.

It could be a carb problem but I would check for a plugged exhaust first.

Is it an HB 180? See if the carb is firmly bolted the the engine and that the gasket is in good condition. If they are tight and in good condition take the fuel filter out of the tank and replace it and the fuel line. If that doesn't solve the problem take the carb off and get a rebuild kit for it. Cost will be about $12 and that will cure the problem.

ive seen em do that if the muffler/screen was clogged, also carbon buildup on piston skirt that was slowing it down. i took the muffler off and sprayed carb cleaner on the piston skirt and had to let it soak and spray some more to get it clean...but a clogged muffler or screen are most common. you can see if the piston is scored while the muffler is off... there are other things like a carb problem or case leak that can cause it.also snug up all the screws on the engine.lucas
