According to standard code, an outdoor fence post should be erected at least 48" if you live in an area subjected to frosting. Unfortunately one of the 12 post can only go 1.5' because of our private septic lying just underneath. Are there any suggestions how to reinforce this one post? Or do I need not worry since the fence are only pvc's about 3' high?

I don't think it would freeze solid enough to move....I would dig down too the tank dig the hole about 24"x24" andd as deep as the tank will alow.....set your post in about about 12" of concrete so you can have 6" soil to plant grass.....you could throw some pieces of rebar in for good measure....This should give you a good broud, heavy foundation....

What I would worry about is the longevity of the fence. PVC does not do well in the sun.

Don't worry about the longevity of the Fence. I have known people who have had them for 10 years and they are as good as first installed.

I wouldn't worry about it. Especially if you set it on your septic tank. As long as there's liquid in the tank, it won't heave.
