loader problem/question

I put a set of forks on my loader and the loader won`t lift what is on the forks, but will lift the same weight in the bucket. Is this the physics of leverage or what?

Yup.

You extend the load a couple feet farther out, and you can lift a lot less. Lever & fulcrum.

it would seem to me that you would have a problem much sooner with counter balance than with limited power. is it a low hp loader ?, or do have a lot of counterweight ?

just thinking out loud..... .....not a criticism.

this is a heavy caseih 585 with a heavy duty loader. i guess around 50hp, not sure....but it is the heaviest tractor per hp. somewhere near 6000lbs. my rear end was not comming off the ground.

I'm not clear if you put forks on the bucket lip or if you take off the bucket & have a fork that mounts on the arm....

But, every inch farther out front a load is, you can lift that much less total weight. Measure from the rear pivot point of the arms to the mid-point of the load when it is in the bucket, & again when it is on the forks. A foot is a lot, 6" can make a big difference too.

Need to compare the weight of the bucket vs the weight of the fork set-up as well.
