Sears Air Compressor Voltage Change

I am trying to rewire my neighbors air compressor to run on 220. The GE motor has all the normal markings including terminal ID and color codes. (I am an electrician and know how to do this). On the back of the motor however is a terminal board without any terminal markings and the colors do not match. I have ID'd the capacator leads(Twoof them start and run I guess) but the remaining leads do not even make sense as they are connected for 120v.

It is a Sears and Sawbuck Mod 919 152290 and they claim it is 4Hp. with a 25 gallon tank.

The way you describe the leads doesn't exactly sound familiar but I ran into an odd setup awile back myself. If I remember right it was a Baldor motor and I was going in the other direction, from 120 to 220. When everything was hooked up right by the diagram I had two extra wires, a yellow along with second #4. I called our local motor shop and they had no clue. I called Baldor and the guy I talked to had no clue either. Finally after a second call to Baldor and somebody actually pulling a print for the motor which didn't show exactly what I had, but gave us an idea and how to verify what we thought it might be. I discovered that the extra wiring was for an internal thermal overload circuit. Because it was supposidly "internal" the print didn't show it, but that was what it was. That said, could what your seeing possibly be part of an overload circuit? I don't know how you'd check it, but it's a thought....
