Hi,

I'm looking for a bead blast cabinet for cleaning car parts etc.. Any good or bad ones? I was thinking Craftsmen, but would like any input. Thanks

Point..Sears makes"Nothing".Litterally everything they sell is someone else product line rebranded "Craftsman" and you pay dearly for the "name" in most cases.A little looking wil generally find you the same exact item for less money.Blasting cabs ain't exactly rocket science, but IMHO,need lite(s)inside, need long term parts support, good dust removal system, reasonably priced "normal wear" parts such as nozzles, guns, pickups, gloves, windows, seals over time.Do a little research and find out what you need for size, compressor size needed etc and stay away from the super cheapies with plastic windows,no lights,no vaccuums.
I started out 20+yrs back at hobbyist level with TPs plans kit for a homemade that dr sportster mentioned(worked well)upgraded to larger TP floor model, then to TP 960 and have very satisfied with TPs products and support. You can NEVER have(within reason)too much air.It will take a minimum 5-6HP decent single stage compressor to run a cabinet properly, roughly 9-10cfm @90PSI for general use. Truman(TP Tools)literally invented non commercial sand/bead blasting, their free catalog is an education in itself as to needs/requirements/equipment,second to none I've seen.
And no I don't work for TP,but prefer to deal with"The Pros" rather than the imitators :)

Mark TP sells plans for one you can make out of 2 sheets of plywood. Its 24x36",works good or you can just purchase a good one.I just sent the plans to a guy named HOBO from tool talk.[Hang on Hobo wife forgot to mail them, they are coming]I cant to credit or comment on building the wood part because my father did it.The legs and window, gloves installed was the easy part I did.Good luck. You can clean up alot of things with one.
