I had to do this several times on a Massey Ferguson 205-4 (which was really a re-badged Hinomoto). I had no documentation with the tractor and the engine manufacturer had long since gone out of business. On this tractor there were a couple of small capscrews on the side of the injector pump. One of them was for bleeding the feed to the pump. You had to remove the screw and crank the tractor over with the starter until fuel started coming out. The next step was to remove one or both injector lines at the injector end (it was a two cylinder engine). The lines would get enough air in them that the injectors could not be opened by the pump (the air in the lines would just compress, leaving the injectors closed by spring pressure). Crank the tractor until fuel starts to spit from the lines. Now reconnect the injector lines, fire up the glow plugs, and see if it will start. It always (eventually) did, though it sometimes took a couple of tries at removing the injector lines. This was enough work that it taught me not to run out of fuel on diesel machines. Many newer production and/or US built machines are much friendlier about this -- they have manual priming levers and injector pumps that aren't so picky about air in the injector lines.
