Still building this house and just about have the electrical wrapped up! Had the inspector out and he liked what he saw to my surprise! Anyways, he told me about some sort of electrical box for exterior wall lights that has the J-channel for the vinyl siding on it but I can't remember what he called them. Anyone have any idea or where to get them. Thanks fellas.

Arlington Industries makes them. They have a web site that lists them, available at any electrical supply house. Big box stores probably won't have them. I used them on my new house for the lights and outside receptacles-work slicker than a gut.

nc140man is correct. Let me add to his responce. A standard J-block is 5-1/2 x 6 inches. Check and see if the base of your light fits the block. Lots of fancy lights on the market with bases bigger than the J-block. In that case , you will want what is called a "Jumbo" J-block. J-blocks are also made for hose bibs , dryer vents , door bell buttons , and meter boxes.

J-blocks, usually comes in 2-pieces. Nail inner piece to wall, run vinyl siding up to it and snap outer trim ring over it for a clean and dry fit! Mount light fixture to the j-block! 'Later! Scott
