Good morning Eddie. Go to the mall shoe store if your mall doesn't have a Wilson's (the purely leather "experts" store). Those are fine shoes, your wife's fine shoes, and you don't want to screw them up, at least not without the help of experts, so to speak. You don't want them to discolor either. I bought some stuff, have it right here called "Texas Steer" brand water proofer. Worthless, absolutely worthless. Didn't discolor my boots, didn't water proof either, and used a whole 10 oz can on the pair as soon as got them home. I was in a hurry and needed something, but didn't pan out. On my work boots, I used mink oil, a whole can. Water proofs them excellent, discolors them though, and since use so much, bleeds through to the socks for months. Black boots + white socks = blacks socks by the end of the day. Works for me, but will not work for your wife, or you'll be sleeping out in the barn. Go to the mall with your wife, take her into Wilson's as a "honey do" thing, and let her hear the experts. Make an honest effort for professional help on those fine, expensive, wife shoes. If if gets goofed up, be sympathetic, but don't sleep in the barn. Don't use used tractor motor or gear oil - us guys do things like that, and you'll be sleeping in the neighbors barn for that one.
