Do any of you fellas have any good plans for a tripod style hunting blind that two guys could sit in out of the weather? it doesnt have to be a tripod could have 4 legs that really doesnt matter. but i need something that would be fairly cheap and portable at least till i can get it set up in the woodlot with the john. any ideas? also any thoughts on what teh "box" of the stand coudl be made from, someone suggest a 300 gallon tank my uncle has lying around but any ideas would be good. also anyone know how expensive a portajohn is?

thanks

my favorite we built on site carrying the stuff back on the hill during off season...
we used two trees and two 4-4treated post 12 ft long... we used plywood (walls) cutting it six feet long and windows before packing on hill. we slanted the roof some plywood with roll roofing well nailed. i later installed plexglass opening windows for extreme cold. it is only 6ft fron the ground but seems to be high enough to disapate scent... i have had turkeys and deer all around for long periods of time. i drilled some peep holes for when standing up. it is along the end of a narrow ridge meadow that goes out 400yds,one way and i can see 100yds up through some brush that i thin some more every year. i only hunt gun season there and stay away from it most of the time.

Guy across road took a old running gear mounted a old forklift mast on it then built a blind where forks went,it's nice he just pulls it out to fence row and has fun it's insulated and to make it go up he used a old 12V snow plow pump .

Find an old truck sleeper and then get a few 8 or 9 foot fence posts and weld up a set up to sit it on. Just an idea

There is currently a set up like that already in play at my uncles property but they attract mice adn squirels very easily and also gather a stench

Hi OB,

I would use soemthing 8ft to 10ft high as deer will smell you before they see you. I would also install whatever you use long before your hunt date so the deer will get used to it and not pay any attention.
