My Kent-Moore diesel nozzle tester seals have about had it. It's a model J-29075-B. I contacted the manufactrer [SPX Kent-Moore] and was very politley told too bad, we no longer service that model. So I'm looking for anyone who can supply the seals or service these nozzle testers. If anyone has priced a new one lately they know why I'm so interested in repairing my old one.

Seems like you ought to be able pull it apart, measure the seals, and get what you want from an industrial supplier like Mcmaster, MSC, or Enco. I had to do that with my OTC tester a while back. I recently ran over my OTC nozzle tester with a crawler and have been looking to buy another tester. It's robbery what prices are being asked for new ones and used. It's a fairly simple device. All you need is a hand pump capable of 3000 PSI, a gauge, and a line to hook to an injector. Buda used to sell one made from a hydraulic bottle jack, and I've seen a few home-made testers done the same way. They work quite well. Another route is to buy a cheap porta-power hand pump, and put a 5000 PSI gauge and hose on it. Most are rated for either 5000 PSI or 10,000 PSI, and all you need to test most injectors is under 2500 PSI. I used to work for a Deere dealer in the Catskill area and we has a couple of OTC and Kent Moore testers that we auctioned off when the business closed in 92. Maybe you've got one of our old ones?

You might try looking around on the Hercules Hydraulics site and see if they have the seals you need. As old as your unit is they probably used standard type/size lip type seals and-or o-rings in it that they will have available. You'll most likely have to go through a distrubutor to get the pieces you need but at least you'll know what you need instead of having to get someone else to find it for you. They also have some very good print catalogs you can request if your interested. Good luck.

"Alas would that it were so easy" Thanks for the info. I was hoping to find seals the easy way,but I guess I'll have to work for it. The seals that are in it are very small and allow steel ball check valves to seat into them. They appear to be made of something like silicone and are shaped like flat washers. I have tried to substitute O rings but just can't get a good enough seal. The tester will pump up to pop pressure but won't hold it to leak test. But I will start checking with the various suppliers and see if I can find something generic. Again thanks for he help.
