I bought an old Sears table saw at an auction. 2 HP motor, 220v, belt drive. It"s cast iron. I can"t find any model number on it and the guy who owned it died.

I"ve got a temporary fence sort of rigged up, but any ideas where I might find some sort of fence to fit on this saw? I sure would appreciate any suggestions.

Sears sells replacement rip fences that fit the older saws. They're a big improvement over the old fences, but are fairly expensive for what they are.

Here's a link to one of the replacements.

Fences for old Craftsman saws are a problem. The originals were fair at best. You might try ebay - search table saw fence. You will likely have to adapt something off of another saw. If your table is the standard 27" deep, you will have some choices. You will probably have to drill holes in the fence rails or the table. The old double tube fences are okay but you need the mounting hardware - the special bolts are spendy. Good aftermarket fences will cost several times what you paid for the saw. Here"s a link for info on how to make your own: Link

what is the surface size of the table and how are the edges set up? is it a pipe style edge or more like the modern "pinch" style?
