Paslode Nail Gun. How does it work?

I have a Paslode framing nailer 5300 is model I think. Bought a o-ring kit for it, installed all the o-rings. It still refuses to shoot. When I pull the trigger some air escapes around the trigger. Thats it. Whats the theory of operation on one of these type guns? What do the plastic disc like pieces in the back of the gun do? Thanks for any help with it.

I was using a Stanley nail gun that blew a seal. Simple enough to fix with a repair kit except that I learned through trial and error that if if you clean all the old oil & gunk out of that gun, it won't shoot - the oil is what seals the piston ring. It's worked fine for several years now.
Also, the best air tool oil I've found it Marvel Mystery oil for air tools.

Well I went to the "how it works", thats real neat. I replaced all the seals, cleaned it, gun wont shoot. I have no idea what to do now. It all looks ready to go. Will not shoot. Kind of a bummer. Im getting real good at taking it apart though and my son loves playing with the used O-rings. Somebody out there knows what Im missing here and maybe they will real this.

I thought you would be nailing everything in sight by now.

The trigger valve operates the pilot stage air to the main valve which dumps the air on the nail side of the piston to atmosphere. It sounds like your pilot stage is not working and in turn not opening the main dump valve. Check out the trigger valve real close and see what is not working there. Is the safety trip at the trigger all worn out and not allowing the valve to send the pilot stage air to the main valve?
Be careful, don't get nailed!
