question about spray painting with compressor

just wondering if anyone know what the ratio is for spraying rust paint and primer I think the paint is 2:1 paint/thinner what is it for primer? the same?
Im using a Siphon Feed Spray Gun. any info would be appreciated.

I mix it up so that when you lift up your paint stirring stick you get drips coming off of it instead of a stream of paint. Sometimes I will adjust it thinner or maybe thicker depending on how it's spraying.

There is no standard ratio -- you need to follow the instructions on the can or spec sheet. Primer will not necessarily be the same as the topcoat.
