I have a 20 x 30 shop, and wondered what would be a good heater to warm up this space. I would like suggestions on electric heaters. Thanks

Lucas

those radiant overhead heaters work good. you know, if you going to work in it all day 5 days a week i would get a heat pump with the coil in the ground . thats the cheepest way to heat nowadays, and you could add the a/c to it too.i heat my house here in ky for 45.00 a month with one.true,it cost me 3500.00 for the heat pump with a/c but i figure i save 150.00 a month in heating costs. lucas

I heat a 40X30 with a 40,000 btu radiant propane heater. The building is well insulated. Radiant is cheaper than forced air, and propane (here, at least) is cheaper than electricity. Just my $0.02

Could be more help to you if we knew where you were located, and how well insulated the shop is. No insulation in Northern Michigan is diferent than heating a well insulated shop in North Carlina.

I only use half my garage space for a shop. 24x15. I hung an overhead Emerson-chromalox elec. htr with a built in fan and thermostat. When I am not out there, i just keep it set about 50 deg. Dont seem to hurt my dinner bucket to much on the elec bill.
But you need good insulation.
