Anyone using propane/oxygen in place of acetylene/oxygen on their cutting torch? Could you please tell me the proper settings for propane and oxygen. I am going trial and error so if someone can help, I'd like to hear from them. Thanks.

You didn't say whether you have just converted. LP takes different tips. Also take different tips for welding/brazing&rosebud.

Will not work at all without changing to LP tips.

Can't remember for sure but I think MAPP would work with same tips as acetelyne. Not sure though.

MAPP has to have a different tip for cutting, bigger holes. Maybe more holes, I haven't looked at my acetylene tip for a long time.

I use MAPP gas (one of the Ps is propane). I was shown to hold the torch up away from the steel and adjust the oxy until the flame makes a star pattern on the steel. What I usually do, with the torch lit, is open the oxy valve only until the flame gets a little bit noisey not a real strong hiss. Works for me.

Yes, it is different than acetylene. And a lot cheaper.
Heat up a smaller piece of metal with it. Don't hit the oxygen. Then adjust the mixture slighly each way and watch the color. When you get the brightest red (hottest) hold the torch away and see what the flame looks like. You need the hottest you can get.
