Went out to check the horses this morning and noticed that my fence charger was"nt pulsing. It was hot but just had a constant light instead of a flashing light. Is it getting ready to go out? How do you go about repairing them?

I tried the external trouble shooting on mine (mentioned) and no help. I opened it up and found corrosion all over everything (caused by ozone generated by the high voltage ionizing the surrounding air).

I cleaned the terminals and re soldered the ones that had corroded open then covered the whole thing with a thick layer of WD-40. Used if for about 10 years after that and had no more problems.

Mine, Gallagher, quits flashing when it's shorted out. Unplug it. Disconnect the hot wire from the charger but leave the ground on. NOw plug it back in. If it is flashing again - you got hard short to ground.

If it has a round thing that plugs into it you coule try replacing that. Otherwise, back to the manufacturer for repair or just get another one.
