Wife gave me a parts washer for Christmas. Chinese job from TSC that has 20 gallon capacity. Do I just put some type of solvent like Varsol in it for the washing? Your suggestions from past experience would be appreciated.

Some just use old stinky diesel fuel but they sell a water soluable type cleaner that is more environmentally friendly when you have to get rid of the dirty used stuff. One thing we all know for sure is NEVER use gasoline for parts cleaning. L8R ----Fred OH

Varsol will evaporate much faster than the diesel fuel. To present another potential problem with the washer, a friend of mine had a lawn mower to backfire when he cranked it after refueling in the shop and it caught the fuel spill on fire. In his haste to get away and get his fire extinguisher, he knocked over the parts washer. Shop gone. Consider that when placing the washer in your shop. Keep the lid closed when not in actual use. Don't refuel anything in the shop and try to crank any vehicle outside after any carburetor or ignition repairs. Say a prayer of thanks for a wife who supports you in your hobby.
