How much Air compressor oil do i need

Does anyone know how much oil one of these old Brunner air compressors take? there is no dip stick just some small glass but I cant see it very well.

You can remove that sight glass pretty easily and clean it. The trick is to get a punch and lightly tap the metal ring on one edge. Tap lightly until it gradually rotates and you can pull it out by the edge. You then can get a small o-ring pick and stuff some varsol soaked rag inside the glass and wipe it clean. Re-insert it into the crankcase with some silicone to seal it around the periphery, by pressing it in by hand, then tap it home lightly with a small hammer. If you don't feel confident in doing this, you can pull the block and do the same thing while the glass remains in place. Of course, you then must remake the block gasket and seal it.

Does this pump have the filler port on top of the head? If so, it probably would be easy to make a dipstick out of some welding rod. By estimating the height from the bottom of the case to the top of the sight glass, you should be able to get a pretty good measurement of the oil level.

If you want, E-mail me the model number and I could send you some info on it. Most brunner compressors were built in Port Hope, Ontario where my father worked for years and I have all of his old books.

I have an old Brunner air compressor and I'm trying to find out what type of oil to put into it. Its a Model 150V6 Type SE-917 and the S/N is A6501. The compressor itself is model A212 and its S/N is 239701. Do you know the recommended type of oil for this unit or where I can get a maintenance manual for it ? Thanks for your help. Gary
