Has anyone out there ordered from Grizzly Tool? I realize you get what you pay for, but at times a tool will do fine depending on intended purposes and frequency of use. I don't plan on using my shop for a living, mostly just a hobby type thing. Right know I am not too pleased with HF catalog practices of backorders and false promises of delivery dates. I would like to know if Grizzly is any better.

i have a combo lathe / end mill from grizzley , love it . i drove the 400 miles to springfield because i couldnt make up my mind fron the pics in the catalog. very knowledgeable people there and they had it pulled from stock before i got to the warehouse to pick it up. ill definatly use them again.

I've been well satisfied with what I've bought from Grizzly. I have a couple tools in the stainless shop from them, and some parts assemblies I've bought from them and built completely custom machine tools from. Their customer service is excellent. I even bought one of their tools used at an auction and called them to get a manual on it and they still went out of their way to help me out. Their tools although Chinese made, are still made to American specifications. A Grizzly outlet is about 65 miles from me.

I do not know what you are looking at but I know the carpenter teacher has some Grizzly power tools and he has very good luck.

I've seen more than a few Grizz's in commercial shops. Mostly the finish on the castings was a little rough, the main complaint. I much prefer my old US made tools but they may not be available in your area.

HF I'd definitely stay away from.
