I've read a lot about torque wrenches on this site. Are the Craftsman click type accurate? I'm not a professional and won't use it everyday. thank you.

Thanks everybody for the information. I have a craftsman beam type but thought a clicker type would be nice to have in some instances.

I have a Craftsman clicker that I've had for about 10 years and never had a bit of trouble with it. I check it a couple times a year and it's always right on. Just remember to turn it back to the lowest setting (40 lbs on mine) after you use it. DO NOT turn it below the lowest setting.

I got a Craftsman beam type torque wrench as a gift and an S-K socket set when Iwas a kid.Worked great for my liftime until one day Snap-on had some trade in deal. Not only did I like the old beam better,I am so mad at myself for trading in a gift my parents gave me at an age I didnt have a car yet or probably know what I wanted to with a darn torque wrench.Im surprised guys dont like them anyway.

I have 3 Craftsman torque wrenches. They work fine for me, but if I were building rockets I'd probably get something better. You can send them to an independent co. for calibation, and repair kits are available from Sears. I just wish they made them in a higher capacity than 250 ft. lbs. I messed one up pretty badly on some JD main caps that had to be 250. Jim.

Bob02, Buy a beam wrench , they are accurate ,cheap, and they don't get out of calibration.I have an old industro , have had it for 40 years. I had a chance to check it on a calibrator 2 years ago and can't read the error. I think I paid 10 bucks for it in 1965. I have several click wrenches , but use the beam the most.I have an automotive machine shop so it gets used regularly.
