Having grown up in North Idaho I used these several times to roll logs to set chokers and to connect drag chains while horse logging.

Now living in N. FL and Pee Vees have become collectables it seems everywhere. Haven't found one less than $100.00. Does anyone have one they would part with. Doing some Iron Horse logging and it would sure beat the current pry bar.

Dang !
Thanks ya'll for all the info. I even learned some. I was not aware of the difference between cant hook and pee vee. What I always used, since we only had three of them was pee vee since it had a point with a hook arm to grab the log.

The point was used to 'poke' the log that was in the wrong place - guide it if you will.

Again thanks for all the great info.

That's about 40 miles up the road from me, and I didn't even know it existed. Reckon I'll have to drop in on 'em. Thanks for the tip!

Do you want a peavy or a cant hook? The peavy has a spike in the end and a cant hook has a toe on the end. A peavy is generally used for working with logs only, while a cant hook can be used for logs or squared timbers.
You might try Ozark Machinery in West Plains Mo, or hunt up a sawmill in your area and see where they get their supplies. They are not all collectors items, I have five cant hooks, of which I use two on a regular basis. I keep the others in reserve for when we manage to drop a log on one and break the handle. (I also turn my own handles)
