Husqvarna Rancher 50, Burned Up!

I was just given a Husqvarna Rancher 50 chainsaw. Straight gas was run through it and chewed up the piston and cylinder.

This saw has only about 20 hour on it, so I think it is worth fixing. It needs a new piston and cylinder. Does anyone know where I can get a good price on these parts and is there a parts diagram for this on-line?

If warrenty won't repair it. Throw the ruined saw on the shelf for spare parts and purchase a new identical saw.

Try Baileys supply, They usally have everything needed and are a Husky dealer.

Tim,,, Husqvarna gave me a life time Warranty on my Husky, why don't you call them and ask, cause that may not cost you anything to fix. always ask and you will learn, regards, Joe

did you tear it all apart first?. I would to make sure that the crank and the rest of it was ok, if it isn't then I'd chuck it in the trash, 20hrs or not if it's junk it's junk.

Jonboy has it right, the oil in 2 cycle mix does it all, if it tore up the cylinder and piston bad enough to have to change then would say every bearing and bushing in it are shot.

the price for new stuff is the same all over, so closest is best- your local dealer. Unless you can buy wholesale. So to save any real money you need to buy used. Ebay, flea mkts.; local dealer may have a saw ran over dozer that busted everything but motor. Slim chance of that! Takes about 15 minutes to change cly. & piston.
