I have been going through my tools and needed to upgrade boxes, I looked all over online and retail. I ended up with a 41 wide 2 tier box from cosco. What a great deal. $650. It ws much less than craftsman and husky of same size and easily twice the qulaity. If your in the market for a new box and dont mind stainless steel (looks like a commercial fridge to me) what a great deal this was. The only think that I dont like about it is the bearing drawer slides have flimsy plastic releases for removing the drawers.

I was in Costco and saw the box which you bought and drooled all over it. Hope you didn't get that one. I went back and they were all sold out.

Wish that I had not just bought that big old clumsy Craftsman.

Congrats on the new boxes.

I have seen a set that sounds very similiar to what you bought at Sam's Club. Price is $654 there. Craftsman uses the same door removal lock on there middle level boxes.

I looked at One Snap On 41" combo Friday evening. $1500 with a couple of cosmetic dents in the front. Going to look at some other sets Sat Afternoon and will probably come home with something. Both these are from seperate Snap On dealers. Second guy seems to be a little more willing to deal.

Snap On man that covers my area won't deal at all, doesn't warrantee worth a darn either.

The only thing I know....becareful that certain lubricants will not distort the plastic "stays". I use greaseless lubricants on mine from time to time. I think I use LPS1, however I am not sure because I keep dirty golf club SOCKS over my spray lubricant cans. I just holler to my helper. "4" and he throws it at me!

I have to keep the can covered with something so as not to have to explain to some authorities what is in the CAN. HTH John,PA

Sounds like you got a good deal on the box. I (kind of) was in the market for a new tool box a few months ago. SWMTD saw me looking at one of the ones on sale at Sears. After leaving there we went on base to the BX for something. They had a four drawer Craftsman Top Chest listed for $29.95. After having the lady working in the area check the price on it (twice) we decided to get it. Seems to had been mis marked. LOL, got the box for a $70.00 discount.
