OK, every few years I go through all my handtools and clean, repair, and warranty broken tools. Well I Just had a bad seat of HUSKY torx sockets replaced. Stanley is the parent company. They sent me a new set no questions asked. Only the old from late 90's were USA these are made in china. Now, perhaps the quality is the same, but i just dont lke it as I paid for american made tools. I also bought a set of Husky 12pt 3/8 sockets....they were cheep 9.00 for a chrome ratchet and the 10 sockets. Then when I got home,,,made in china. Im pretty sure they will be fine for the rare times I need a 12pt socket. But I guess in this case you get what you pay for. I also ordered a 12pc set of stanley ratcheting combination wrenches and when the arrived...Tiwan.

I think its fair to say Husky is now crap! They were pretty nice just a few years ago, same quality or better than the husky set I have from the 60's and better than craftsman. But that was then.. Boy am I glad I didnt trade my craftsman for them when they were offering the trade in back around 1998. While craftsman mechanics tools arent amazing, they still in my mind are the way to go if your not a professional. Although their ratchest are awfull.

if you don't like china made products, just wait a few more years when the "outscourcing" will be outscourced and no telling where our products will be made. maybe africa or some third world sewer. everyone complains about cost. ok, so we have cheap goods, but the quality is cheap.

J- I noticed the Husky switch away from USA too. I liked the USA Husky and don't understand why they switched and comprimised their good name.
