What is a good brand floor standing drill press on the market today? Also, what is a good brand chop saw?

I agree with Tom the import drill presses arent too bad.An easy way to check the table being perpendicular to the drill bit is to take a weld ing rod bend a short 90 degree on each end opposite each other,place it in the chuck and turn it by hand .If it scratches,[lightly touches], each side the same the chuck is aligned with the table.Brand name I have no idea WAng Chung Maybe.[or was that a rock band]

The import drill presses are not bad for the money. Problem with them is they don't slow down enough for much over 5/8 or maybe 3/4" drill bits in steel. You want 200 or less rpm. Look for the slowest one you can find. Older U.S. drill presses are good quality, but most don't have the double reduction for slow speeds, you could add it. Or buy a faster drill press and look for an old large slow turning drill press for the big jobs. Chop saws, you get what you pay for.
