Have an upright "60 250gal Worthington Comp. w/a dinasaour 1.5hp 3phs motor that needs hooking up to the breaker...However, tech plate for motor is nonexistant...(the glue is there but plate is not). Does any one know where one can obtain a schematic of this motor, so that I may keep the internal componants from "smoking", when I ultimatley do come to that point of having to "smoke test" my wiring? You my call Erny @ (408) 512-0215, or call me (Kurt) @ (408) 591-7325. Thanks Kurt @ Erny

Kurt,

It is very doubtful that you'll find a schematic for the motor. I’d just remove it and take it to a motor repair shop and let them show you how to do it. Heck you don’t even know what voltage it is.

Since you said the motor is a “dinosaur” you might just consider getting another motor. Used small three phase motors like you have are very cheap – I imagine one like you need would go for less than $50.00. Check it out at the local motor shop.

Another option is to go to a scrap yard and see if they have one. Our local yard sells used three phase motors for $5.00/hp. If it doesn’t work they will take it back. Maybe you have something like that near you.

Good luck!

Do the leads coming from the windings have tags on them? This would shed some light on the subject.
