Does anyone have a new lincoln 225 ac/dc buzz box and if so how does it perform. Especially the DC side of it. Thinking about buying one instead of the Miller Thunderbolt with Shunt crank.

I had bought one about 5 years ago , and another one about 3 years ago. Both have been darn good little welders. I have one at two different residences. Much more versitile than just AC. I bought both of these welders new.

Ive had a 225 for about 3yrs.It's the c model with infinate(rotory)amp control. It is fine for hobby use and the"lunch box styling"of the 225c make it easy to carry around.

I was curious as to how they worked too and stopped in a buddies place where he sold new and used tools and he had one that looked new. When I asked how much, he said he'd take $179 for it and the wood lathe and B&D router table sitting beside it. Out came my checkbook! I sold the wood lathe for over $100 and used the Lincoln AC/DC welder a little and it was a good little welder. Nothing wrong with it for a small shop and project machine. I bought 25' of leads and put on it and then sold it to a neighbor for $300. He's still tickled with it. Started checking with the tool buddie more often after that. He appears to be one of those fellows that if he finds something that he wants, he will sell things cheap as dirt. Go ahead and tell us about your buy Ed. L8R----Fred OH

We got to talking and he said the wife wanted to come sell some of her things and he ''threw some odds &end on and came too Hesaid he was always buying things and then naver using them and welder was one of them.Ive bought ''lots'' like fred and split them up or kept what i needed and sold rest really helps out .
